NeGD is currently inviting applications for the position of AI / ML Lead on a contractual basis for a period of three years, which may be further extended based on the requirements of the project.

Responsibilities

• Own the AI/ML strategy and prioritised use-case portfolio across course recommendations, job matching, semantic search, demand forecasting, resume skill extraction, and GenAI assistance
• Convert assessment findings into a sequenced implementation roadmap tied to data readiness and platform maturity
• Define model governance, evaluation criteria, deployment readiness, monitoring expectations, and rollback controls for vendor-delivered AI features
• Partner with product to prioritise use cases that improve discovery, conversion, placement, and engagement metrics
• Work with the Data Platform Lead on feature data readiness, taxonomy standardisation, and governed data inputs
• Review vendor AI proposals for relevance, feasibility, bias, explainability, and operational fit
• Coordinate with engineering and platform teams on productionisation — APIs, latency, observability, and model lifecycle controls

The National e-Governance Division (NeGD) is an independent business division under the Digital India Corporation, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. NeGD has been playing a pivotal role in supporting MeitY in Programme Management and implementation of e-Governance projects and initiatives undertaken by various Ministries/ Departments, both at the Central and State levels.
