NeGD is currently inviting applications for the position of Data Analyst on a contractual basis, initially for three years, with possible extensions as the project requires.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain interactive Power BI/Tableau dashboards and reports to visualize citizen feedback trends, sentiment, and key performance metrics
• Connect Power BI (and other BI tools) to SQL databases (SQL Server/MySQL/PostgreSQL/Oracle) to ensure dashboards reflect near real-time citizen feedback data
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries (joins, aggregations, window functions) to extract and analyze large volumes of citizen feedback data
• Set up automated data refresh schedules so dashboards stay current as new feedback is continuously submitted
• Monitor incoming feedback data for quality issues — duplicates, missing values, inconsistent or multilingual text — before it feeds into dashboards
• Develop KPIs, scorecards, and drill-down reports to help government stakeholders track citizen satisfaction and service performance across departments/regions
• Perform exploratory data analysis to surface patterns, trends, and anomalies (e.g., recurring complaints, regional hotspots, sentiment shifts)
• Collaborate with data engineers to ensure underlying SQL data models support accurate and efficient reporting
• Translate government/business requirements into effective dashboard designs and visualizations
• Ensure dashboards and reports comply with data privacy and security norms (e.g., DPDP Act 2023), given the sensitivity of citizen data
• Present analytical findings and dashboard walkthroughs to non-technical government stakeholders in a clear, actionable way
• Maintain documentation for dashboard logic, data sources, DAX measures, and report definitions
• Support ad hoc data requests and analysis from government departments/committees

The National e-Governance Division (NeGD) is an independent business division under the Digital India Corporation, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. NeGD has been playing a pivotal role in supporting MeitY in Programme Management and implementation of e-Governance projects and initiatives undertaken by various Ministries/ Departments, both at the Central and State levels.
