NeGD is currently inviting applications for the position of Data Standards & Interoperability Specialist on a contractual basis for a period of two years.

Responsibilities

  • Audit existing standards notified at egovstandards.gov.in (23 MDDS standards, 25 guidelines, 19 frameworks) and map gaps across domains
  • Develop a domain-wise standards roadmap covering certificates, registries, APIs, and metadata schemas for the ~50 Ministries and Departments in scope
  • Design and oversee deployment of data wrappers and lightweight adapters for legacy government systems to enable standards-compliant data sharing
  • Coordinate with NIC and line Ministries for development of missing MDDS standards under NDGC oversight
  • Define API design specifications aligned with API Setu and NAPIX architecture; ensure all new systems and databases are API-first by design
  • Review and certify compliance of Ministry/Department systems with prescribed egovernance standards; report non-compliance with justifications
  • Liaise with MoSPI for statistical data standards and with domain Ministries for sector specific standards in Agriculture, Health, Transport, and Finance
  • Support MoRTH-style Data Sharing Policy formulation by providing technical annexures on data formats and API specifications
  • Track all 6 standardisation projects and report technical progress to the Team Lead monthly

About National e-Governance Division (NeGD)

The National e-Governance Division (NeGD) is an independent business division under the Digital India Corporation, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. NeGD has been playing a pivotal role in supporting MeitY in Programme Management and implementation of e-Governance projects and initiatives undertaken by various Ministries/ Departments, both at the Central and State levels.

NeGD has been spearheading several innovative initiatives under the aegis of the Digital India Programme.
