NeGD is currently inviting applications for the position of Data Visualization Expert / Data Analyst on a contractual basis for a period of one year, which may be further extended based on the requirements of the project.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and publish interactive dashboards and analytical reports using Power BI or other open-source tools (Desktop, Service, and Gateway) for NDCS stakeholders, including DGS, MoPSW, ports, and the general public
- Define, calculate, and standardise Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including Vessel Turnaround Time, Dwell Time, Cargo Throughput, Route Utilisation, and Compliance Metrics in alignment with the KPI Definition Document
- Connect Power BI to the NDCS data warehouse (PostgreSQL) and to external data sources via scheduled refreshes and real-time feeds
- Develop DAX measures, calculated columns, and data models in Power BI for accurate, high-performance reporting
- Create geographic visualisations and port activity maps using GIS data layers (GeoJSON / lat-long coordinates)
- Align and enhance existing reporting outputs (Excel / PDF / internal reports) into structured Power BI dashboards
- Implement Row Level Security (RLS) in Power BI dashboards to enforce role-based data access for Ministry, DGS, Port, and Public user groups
- Collaborate with the data engineering team to understand ETL pipeline schedules, data refresh cycles, and dataset limitations
- Support analytics requirements for historical trend analysis (minimum 3–5 years), cargo flow forecasting, and infrastructure gap assessments
- Prepare data quality reports and flag inconsistencies in integrated datasets from e-Samudra, LRIT, MSW, IWAI PANI, and PCS
- Document all dashboard designs, data flows, and KPI definitions in the NDCS Analytics and Reporting Manual
- Support the incorporation of predictive analytics and AI/ML-based forecasting capabilities during the O&M phase

The National e-Governance Division (NeGD) is an independent business division under the Digital India Corporation, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. NeGD has been playing a pivotal role in supporting MeitY in Programme Management and implementation of e-Governance projects and initiatives undertaken by various Ministries/ Departments, both at the Central and State levels.
