NeGD is currently inviting applications for the position of Database Administrator – DigiLocker, Kenya, on a contractual basis, initially for three years, with possible extensions as the project requires.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure, and maintain production, staging, and disaster recovery database environments (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, Redis) across
  cloud infrastructures.
• Implement robust database security policies, fine-grained access controls, data masking, transparent data encryption (TDE), and audit logging to ensure strict
  compliance with government security frameworks.
• Establish automated backup strategies, point-in-time recovery mechanisms, high availability clustering, failover testing, and multi-region replication architecture to
  guarantee strict SLA targets.
• Monitor database health, optimize slow-running complex queries, tune indexing structures, manage tablespaces, and proactively address capacity planning and
  resource utilization constraints.
• Manage secure data migration, schema evolution, and ETL pipelines while safeguarding data integrity across cross-border G2G application integration points.
• Coordinate with third-party security auditors, STQC, and CERT-In teams during security audits and vulnerability assessments to remediate database-layer findings.

The National e-Governance Division (NeGD) is an independent business division under the Digital India Corporation, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
