Digital India Corporation is currently inviting applications for the position of Deputy General Manager – Technical/ Backend Development on a contractual basis.

Responsibilities

Application & Release Management

• Own end-to-end application management across staging and production environments
• Plan and execute deployment of patches, hotfixes, and releases across staging and production with controlled rollout and rollback strategies
• Ensure environment parity so application behaviour is consistent across development, staging, and production

Code Reviews & Engineering Quality

• Conduct regular, thorough code reviews to enforce coding standards, security guidelines, scalability, and maintainability
• Use SonarQube for static code analysis, enforcing quality gates around code coverage, code smells, vulnerabilities, and security hotspots
• Use AI tools to support code reviews, catch issues earlier, and maintain consistent quality across the team
• Uphold best practices around input validation, parameterized database access, error handling, and secure logging

Security & SAST

• Perform Static Application Security Testing (SAST) and security scanning across the codebase
• Triage, prioritize, and drive remediation workflows for identified vulnerabilities and security hotspots
• Track findings to closure and embed secure-coding practices into the development lifecycle

AI-Assisted Development

• Integrate AI Tools into daily development to accelerate feature delivery, reduce boilerplate, and improve consistency
• Apply AI-assisted workflows for code generation, refactoring, and review while maintaining human oversight and production-quality standards

CI/CD & Automation

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment
• Integrate SonarQube quality gates, SAST scans, and test coverage thresholds directly into the pipeline to block substandard or insecure code from reaching production
• Automate repetitive operational tasks to reduce manual intervention and deployment risk

Cloud & Infrastructure (AWS)

• Provision, operate, and optimize AWS infrastructure: EC2, ECS, S3, DynamoDB, Redshift, CloudWatch, CloudFront
• Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting via CloudWatch for proactive incident detection
• Manage containerized workloads using Docker for consistent, reproducible deployments

Data & Messaging

• Design and maintain data layers across MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, and Redis
• Implement caching strategies with Redis for performance and scale
• Build asynchronous, decoupled workflows using RabbitMQ (RMQ)
