Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the Start-up and Government portfolio within the Division, ensuring alignment with BHASHINI’s strategic objectives and effective implementation across organizations
- Build and manage strategic partnerships with start-ups, State/Central Government agencies, academia, industry, and other stakeholders to drive adoption and innovation. Act as the primary representative of BHASHINI in state-level meetings, forums, and events
- Lead co-creation initiatives with stakeholders to identify use cases, define requirements, and develop scalable language technology solutions leveraging BHASHINI’s ecosystem
- Drive the adoption and implementation of BHASHINI solutions across start-ups and government through stakeholder engagement, solution consulting, project coordination, and deployment support
- Develop and coordinate language dataset collection and development initiatives, including text, speech, translation, and other language resources required for language models and AI/NLP applications
- Facilitate the development and maintenance of language glossaries, terminology banks, and domain-specific language resources in collaboration with language and domain experts, academia, and other relevant stakeholders
- Develop project proposals, concept notes, implementation strategies, and partnership frameworks for start-up and government initiatives
- Plan and execute State-specific initiatives by aligning project strategies with regional language, governance, cultural, and ecosystem requirements
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate hackathons, innovation challenges, conferences, workshops, and other ecosystem initiatives, including stakeholder outreach and post-event follow-up
- Drive the timely execution of start-up and government initiatives by ensuring effective coordination and implementation with internal and external stakeholders, monitoring milestones, identifying risks, and resolving implementation challenges
- Design and implement scalable workflows, governance frameworks, and operational processes to support the rollout of BHASHINI initiatives across start-ups and state governments, while monitoring progress, mitigating risks, and addressing stakeholder-specific requirements
- Demonstrate a proactive and solution-oriented approach by adapting to changing business needs and resolving implementation challenges effectively across start-ups and government projects
- Conduct training, workshops, demonstrations, and awareness programs to build the capacity of start-ups and government stakeholders for effective adoption of BHASHINI solutions
- Maintain transparent communication with stakeholders at all levels, ensuring alignment, accountability, and regular updates on project progress
- Exhibit strong analytical skills and sound judgment to address operational challenges swiftly and make informed decisions under business demands
- Manage complex, long-term projects with exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and adaptability to evolving project needs
- Monitor emerging trends in AI, NLP, language technologies, and digital public infrastructure to identify opportunities for new partnerships, use cases, and solutions

About Bhashini
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) under the Digital India Program has undertaken a unique initiative, BHASHINI, the National Language Translation Mission. Mission Bhashini was launched by Hon’ble PM on 4th July 2022 during Digital India Week 2022 in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Vision of Bhashini is to “Harness natural language technologies to enable a diverse ecosystem of contributors, partnering entities and citizens for the purpose of transcending language barriers, thereby ensuring digital inclusion and digital empowerment in an Aatma Nirbhar Bharat.”
