Job Summary: A GIS (Geographic Information Systems) Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining GIS-based applications, tools, and solutions. They integrate spatial data with software applications to support analysis, visualization, and decision-making processes.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Develop, customize, and maintain GIS applications using technologies such as ArcGIS, QGIS, Mapbox, OpenLayers, or Google Maps API.
• Design and implement spatial databases using PostGIS, Oracle Spatial, or SQL Server with GIS extensions.
• Process, analyze, and visualize geospatial data using Python (Geopandas, GDAL), JavaScript, or R.
• Integrate GIS applications with other enterprise systems through APIs and web services (REST, SOAP, GeoServer, WMS/WFS).
• Automate geospatial data processing workflows using scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, or SQL).
• Work with remote sensing data, satellite imagery, and LiDAR data for analysis and visualization
• Perform spatial analysis, geocoding, and network analysis to support business decision- making.
• Ensure GIS applications are scalable, optimized, and meet performance standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, data analysts, and domain experts.
• Provide technical documentation, user training, and support for GIS applications.
C. Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, or related fields from a recognized university/institute.
