India AI is currently inviting applications for the below position purely on Contract/ Consolidated basis.

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with ministries to identify high-impact AI use cases aligned with available data and policy objectives.
2. Lead the development of AI/ML model prototypes using ministry datasets to validate feasibility and demonstrate value.
3. Design and implement AI dataset pipelines that support scalable AI application development.
4. Assist in formulating AI strategies within ministries for broader AI adoption and deployment.
5. Define and apply data readiness frameworks, metrics, and scoring systems to evaluate the quality and suitability of ministry datasets for AI use.
6. Contribute to strategic planning for AI adoption, ensuring data infrastructure supports innovation.
7. Ensure compliance with relevant data policies/guidelines/rules as set forth by the Data Management Office or any other Government of India agency.
8. Support ministries in basic data cleaning, formatting, and preparation for AI/ML use. Create, maintain, and improve the quality of data repositories for the host Ministry/Department/Agency
9. Work on cross-sectoral initiatives across governments to extract data from data warehouses and other back-end systems.
10. Recommend and implement suitable ML/AI techniques such as classification, clustering, or forecasting for each use case.
11. Work with data analysts to resolve data formatting and schema issues, ensuring datasets are AI-ready and governed effectively.
12. Co-develop AI strategies, use case roadmaps, and policy documents in collaboration with ministry stakeholders and domain experts.
13. Coordinate with Digital/Data Management Offices to establish SOPs for data lifecycle management and AI integration.
14. Create reusable scripts, models, and templates to be shared across ministries through platforms like AIKosh.
15. Mentor data analysts and lead peer-learning initiatives to strengthen AI/ML capabilities within ministries.
16. Ensure that AI models are interpretable, ethically sound, and well-documented to meet governance and compliance standards.
17. Provide regular updates on AI-readiness and prototype progress to IndiaAI leadership and relevant government stakeholders.
18. Support the evaluation of AI models focusing on accuracy, robustness, and scalability for government use cases.
19. Manage team including Data Analyst and Data Scientist.
