NeGD is currently inviting applications for the position of Python / AI Developer on a contractual basis, initially for a period of 3 years, which is further extendable as per the requirements of the project.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain REST APIs and microservices using Python frameworks (e.g., FastAPI, Flask, Django)
• Build AI/GenAI-enabled features including LLM integration, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, embeddings generation, and vector search
• Develop and maintain reusable APIs, services, SDKs, and common components for use across multiple NeGD projects
• Integrate third-party and open-source LLMs / AI models into enterprise applications, including prompt design and evaluation
• Write clean, well-tested, well-documented, and maintainable code following defined architecture and coding standards
• Collaborate with the Senior Architect-Developer on system design, technical decisions, and code reviews
• Participate in unit testing, integration testing, and deployment activities for the components developed
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance, including AI/LLM response latency and accuracy
• Document technical designs, APIs, and reusable components for adoption by other project teams

The National e-Governance Division (NeGD) is an independent business division under the Digital India Corporation, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. NeGD has been playing a pivotal role in supporting MeitY in Programme Management and implementation of e-Governance projects and initiatives undertaken by various Ministries/ Departments, both at the Central and State levels.
