Responsibilities
- Design and govern the end-to-end solution architecture for the MY Bharat Platform, covering web and mobile applications, backend services, microservices, APIs, databases, integrations, security, deployment architecture, and cloud infrastructure.
- Define application and system architecture principles, standards, reference patterns, and technology guidelines to ensure modularity, scalability, reusability, maintainability, high availability, resilience, security, and interoperability across the platform.
- Collaborate with product managers, business analysts, technical leads, developers, DevOps, database, infrastructure, security, and partner teams to translate business, functional, non-functional, and regulatory requirements into robust technical architecture and implementation designs.
- Lead architecture for new applications and modules, application modernization, decomposition of legacy or monolithic components, cloud migration, and adoption of cloud-native and microservices-based patterns while ensuring business continuity, data integrity, backward compatibility, and minimal service disruption.
- Define and govern API and integration architecture for internal modules, Government platforms, and third-party systems using RESTful APIs, API Gateway, asynchronous processing, message queues such as RabbitMQ, event-driven architecture, and appropriate integration patterns.
- Define data architecture and technology choices across transactional databases, NoSQL stores, caching, search, analytics, and data pipelines, including services such as RDS/MySQL, DynamoDB, Redis, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, S3, and Redshift, based on functional, performance, scale, and consistency requirements.
- Design and govern cloud and deployment architecture using appropriate compute, container, storage, networking, CDN, load balancing, API management, monitoring, and managed cloud services, ensuring portability, scalability, operational efficiency, and cost optimization.
- Define architecture for High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), Business Continuity (BCP), backup, replication, failover, auto-scaling, load balancing, fault tolerance, and multi-region or multi-availability-zone deployment where required for mission-critical services.
- Provide architectural guidance for application and cloud security using IAM/RBAC, Keycloak, JWT/OAuth-based authentication, encryption, secrets management, WAF, API security, network security, secure coding principles, logging, monitoring, vulnerability management, and Zero Trust principles.
- Establish architecture-level non-functional requirements and KPIs covering response time, latency, throughput, concurrency, availability, scalability, reliability, resource utilization, recoverability, security, observability, and cloud cost, and ensure these are validated during design and release reviews.
- Lead High-Level Design (HLD), Low-Level Design (LLD) guidance, architecture reviews, technical design reviews, capacity planning, performance assessments, security reviews, and architecture compliance reviews to ensure consistency across applications, integrations, infrastructure, and releases.
- Guide engineering teams on CI/CD, DevSecOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), containerization, deployment automation, configuration management, observability, and release architecture using tools and platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes/container services, Jenkins, Git, AWS CodePipeline, and related
- Serve as a senior technical authority and escalation point for complex architecture, integration, scalability, performance, reliability, and technology decisions; provide mentoring and architectural guidance to technical leads, developers, DevOps, database, and infrastructure teams.
- Evaluate emerging application, cloud, data, integration, security, and engineering technologies; recommend suitable platforms, frameworks, architecture patterns, and modernization approaches; and maintain architectural decisions, HLDs, deployment diagrams, integration and security architecture, data flows, system workflows, and Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) for governance and audits.
