NeGD is currently inviting applications for the position of Sports Technology & Analytics Specialist on a contractual basis for a period of three years, which may be further extended based on the requirements of the project.

Responsibilities

• Performance Analytics & Dashboards: Lead definition of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and technical design of analytics dashboards, including medal analytics, performance analytics, athlete analytics, and coach analytics, ensuring these are architected to provide meaningful, decision-ready insights for federations, coaches, and SAI leadership
• IoT & Wearables Integration: Design the integration architecture for IoT devices and wearable-device data feeds into the platform, defining data pipelines, interoperability standards and system requirements for continuous athlete-monitoring data capture
• Predictive Analytics: Lead design of predictive-analytics use cases (e.g. injury-risk prediction, performance forecasting), defining underlying data models, algorithms and system requirements in collaboration with the technical delivery team
• Data Modeling & System Integration: Define data models and integration requirements to consolidate data from 25+ legacy SAI portals into the unified NSDE platform, ensuring consistency, interoperability and a single source of truth across the 9 programme pillars and 58 modules
• Use-Case Translation: Translate sporting and operational use cases — including high-performance monitoring, recovery tracking and sports-science processes — into precise, implementable system and data requirements for the engineering team
• Design Validation & UAT Support: Actively participate in design-validation workshops, wireframe/prototype reviews, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) walkthroughs and stakeholder review meetings, providing structured technical feedback and sign-off from a systems and data perspective
• Knowledge Transfer & Mentoring: Mentor and hand-hold the delivery team on data architecture, integration patterns and analytics design, so that institutional technical knowledge is embedded within the programme team and does not remain dependent on a single individual
• Risk & Rework Reduction: Flag technical and data-architecture risks, gaps or misinterpretations early in the requirement and design stages, so that costly rework, scope drift or integration failure is avoided later in the implementation lifecycle
• Continuity Support: Serve as a continuity anchor for the engagement by drawing on prior exposure to existing SAI/NeGD systems, data structures and integration patterns, helping incoming technical teams quickly get up to speed
• Functional Requirement Review: Study and validate the Functional Requirement Documents (FRD) and Business Requirement Documents (BRD) prepared for the assigned programme pillar(s), assessing each requirement for technical feasibility, data structure and system-design implications before it is taken up for development
• Workflow & Dashboard Design Input: Work closely with the Business Analysis and Design teams to define, review and refine the digital architecture of athlete-, coach- and federation-facing workflows, forms and dashboards, ensuring these are structured for scalability, usability and consistent data capture across the platform
• Technical Solution Requirements (TSR): Lead the preparation and continuous refinement of Technical Solution Requirement documents for the assigned programme pillar(s), translating validated BRDs/FRDs into detailed technical specifications, system architecture inputs and data requirements that the engineering team can directly action
• Global Best Practices in Sports Technology: Research and benchmark global best practices in sports-tech ecosystems, athlete-management platforms and analytics frameworks (e.g. from leading international sports federations and Olympic programmes), and recommend applicable standards, tools and design patterns to strengthen the NSDE platform’s architecture and future-readiness
