Responsibilities

  • Lead overall coordination of the Interoperable and Integrated Government Databases initiative across Central Ministries, Departments, and States
  • Serve as the secretariat for the National Data Governance Committee (NDGC) – prepare agendas, record decisions, track compliance directives, and follow up with lead agencies
  • Coordinate with State Data Governance Committees (SDGCs) to align State-level implementation with the national framework
  • Monitor progress of all four Proposals (standardisation, data sharing policies, data exchange platforms, governance architecture) against agreed timelines
  • Prepare periodic progress reports, MIS dashboards, and compliance matrices for the NDGC and Cabinet Secretariat
  • Liaise with NIC, NeGD, and CERT-In on technical and security dimensions of data interoperability
  • Facilitate inter-ministerial consultations and resolve coordination bottlenecks escalated by domain teams
  • Oversee budgetary tracking across the six project clusters (estimated ₹132.2 Crore total outlay)
  • Represent MeitY in meetings with PMO, Cabinet Secretariat, and NITI Aayog on data governance matters

About National e-Governance Division (NeGD)

The National e-Governance Division (NeGD) is an independent business division under the Digital India Corporation, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. NeGD has been playing a pivotal role in supporting MeitY in Programme Management and implementation of e-Governance projects and initiatives undertaken by various Ministries/ Departments, both at the Central and State levels.

NeGD has been spearheading several innovative initiatives under the aegis of the Digital India Programme.
