India AI is currently inviting applications for the position of Technical Architect – Application Development (AI) purely on Contract/ Consolidated basis.

The place of posting shall be in New Delhi but transferable to project locations of IndiaAI as per existing policy of IndiaAI.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

  1. Define and maintain technical architecture standards, reference architectures, and design guidelines for AI applications developed and deployed under the IndiaAI Application Development Pillar.
  2. Provide architectural oversight for AI solutions deployed through Innovation Challenges, Hackathons, RFPs, vendor empanelment, Mission Mode Projects, and in-house development.
  3. Review technical proposals, solution designs, and architecture documents submitted by vendors, implementation partners, and solution providers; provide feedback to ensure scalability, security, interoperability, and compliance.
  4. Provide technical inputs into the formulation of RFPs, bid documents, and vendor empanelment criteria, including technical specifications, evaluation parameters, and performance benchmarks.
  5. Participate in technical evaluation committees for Challenges, Hackathons, and procurement processes; assess prototype viability, technical depth, and architectural soundness of submissions.
  6. Guide reusable solution design for common government use cases.
  7. Assess existing IT landscapes, identify integration pathways, and ensure AI solutions align with sectoral digital ecosystems through exploration of various AWS, GCP, Azure and open-source technologies and services
  8. Drive the responsible adoption of GenAI, LLM-based applications (including RAG systems, copilots, and agentic AI components), and AI-enhanced developer productivity tools across solution design and engineering workflows under the Pillar.
  9. Ensure AI applications comply with responsible AI principles, security standards, data protection requirements (including DPDP Act, CERT-In guidelines), and relevant national and international AI governance guidelines.
  10. Support the Pillar’s contribution to the AIKosh platform, including the Use-Case Repository, vendor registry, try-out, environments, datasets generated from pilot deployments, and public dissemination of AI solutions.
  11. Support the establishment of monitoring and evaluation frameworks, including technical performance metrics, architecture compliance reviews, and deployment site assessments.
  12. Mentor the in-house technical team, including AI developers, AI/ML specialists, and engineers, on architectural best practices, responsible AI engineering practices, code quality standards, testing discipline, and emerging AI technologies.
  13. Prepare technical notes, architecture documentation, and presentations for IndiaAI leadership, empowered committees, and partner Ministries; and track emerging trends in AI, foundation models, and digital public infrastructure to continuously strengthen the Pillar’s technical capabilities.
